Welding Cable

Afrox welding cable is available with a choice of rubber and PVC insulation. Rubber insulated cable is recommended for use outside and is available in different amperages and duty cycles. PVC-insulated cable is used indoors only and is also available in a choice of amperages

Electrode Holders

Afrox offers jaw and twist-lock type electrode holders. The electrical capacity of the electrode holder must always be greater than the amperage in use - for instance, to carry 300 Amps, electrode holder capacity should be at least 400 Amps. Damaged electrode holders can cause electric shock and even death and must be carefully maintained.

Factors determining choice of electrode holder:

1. Diameter of the electrode
2. Amperage required
3. Diameter of the cable used
4. Customer preference for jaw type or twist lock.

Earth Clamps

Afrox offers two main types of earth clamps - crocodile and screw type - available in capacities of 200, 300 and 500 Amp capacities. If not properly secured to the work piece they can cause arcing, heat generation, damage to the earth clamp and shock to the welder. Cable Lugs and Cable Connectors Two types of cable lugs and cable connectors are available - crimping and fixing hole, and male and female cable connectors. Connector quality is important as bad connections result in inferior welding characteristics.

Chipping Hammer

The Afrox chipping hammer features a hardened steel head with pointed and chiselled edges and a spring handle to reduce jarring. Wire Brushes The five-row mild steel wire brush is manufactured for carbon steel welding applications. Afrox also offers a five-row stainless steel wire brush for use on stainless steel and aluminium. Wire brush types should be matched with welding material in order to avoid contamination.

Electrode Hot Box

Wet electrodes fuse slowly, giving spatter and weld defects, and yielding porous welds. An electrode Hot Box keeps the electrode dry after the baking process. Afrox has two 10kg capacity electrode Hot Boxes. The boxes are available in two supply voltage options, a 60 - 100volt machine OCV and a 220volt 50Hz domestic power supply box.

Afrox Penetrant, Developer and Remover

Afrox offers the Ardrox HF-P Penetrant for accurate weld defect detection, Ardrox HF-D Developer and Ardrox HF-R Cleaner. These are used to identify weld defects and clean the affected weld area before welding.
